Alice Software

We supply two e-publication tools, called Aweb and Alice Web.

E-publication offers great flexibility in how webs can be delivered.  They may be placed on a database server, a personal computer or a personal digital assistant (PDA).  E-publication on a server that is accessible to the internet can make the content very highly available across the internet, once the content has been indexed by a search engine.  Webs can also be published and distributed cheaply on CD or DVD or made available on any device that supports a web browser.

Using these tools it is possible to publish Alice Databases as webs.  The tools differ in features and their degree of integration into the Alice System.  Both are easy to use.  Aweb is fully integrated into the Alice System and provides great flexibility about what information from an Alice database is published and also how it is published. Webs generated using Aweb can easily be integrated into content management systems so the webs have the 'look and feel' of a corporate web site.  Aweb and AliceWeb generate highly indexed webs that facilitate information retrieval.  They differ in the style of indexing used how information is presented.  Full Boolean searching can be integrated into webs produced using Aweb.

Aweb is available for System 2.1 and System 3.0 and is compatible with system releases 11b and later.

AliceWeb is compatible with release 11 of Alice System 2.1.
